Take the safer bet with an established outfit that have ready made work to step into
OR
a more challenging role where you will need to build and grow a team (with the security of some work in place).
High Reward
One offers recognition and rewards which tend to be much higher. It's a role where you can make a name for yourself, build a team and network. Yes there are always risks with a less established teams, but the rewards and the opportunities far exceed this risk.
Without such an established framework there is also more room to move up the ranks and the doors would be wide open for a Director role.
Safer Bet
In an established team there would obviously be other Engineers already in line for those types of roles so there would naturally be more competition to get that progression. However the large projects you will have access to in the established teams might be of interest, if your not that fussed about a path to management/directorship.
Weigh it up
There are obviously positives and negatives for each role - are you the type of person that takes risks, likes a challenge and wants to make a name for yourself? Or are you someone that would prefer to be with a well known brand, with big juicy projects and not too much pressure on your shoulders to bring in the work.

Must have at least 10+ years experience in the consulting environment within the building structures space, of which at least 2 years is in NZ and Chartered status.
